Subsurface Imaging

is a company at the leading edge of technology with more than 100 total staff years of experience. We offer a complete range of geophysical services to consultants, general contractors, governments and their agencies, and to the mining industry in South East Asia and Australasia.

Groundsearch was formed in 1983
Subsurface Imaging Australia was purchased in 1997 and its precedent (Mets) was setup in 1991

Subsurface Imaging have planned and performed one thousand geophysical, geological, and groundwater surveys, in New Zealand, Australia, the South Pacific and SE Asia.

Subsurface Imaging (SSI) use modern, portable, precise and flexible equipment. We have developed an effective system support and management of field crews and equipment. This is very important when working in remote locations.

SSI NZ was formed in 1983 as specialists in the fields of geophysics, waste engineering and hydrogeology.

SSI Australia began performing Radio Imaging surveys in Australia in 1991. It operated as METS Radio Imaging Technology Ltd as part of Australian Longwall and Joy Group. In 1997 SSI NZ acquired METS Ltd, incorporated its own geophysical capabilities and changed the name to SSI Australia.

Subsurface Imaging have experienced personnel applying sound scientific methods to problem solving in order to meet our clientâ€™s needs. Our personnel are experienced geophysicists and geologists. Continuous training in project management, safety systems and total quality management are part of our philosophy.
