We specialize in making Great images of the Subsurface
Here’s how it all started Back in the bad old days in the mid 80’s we all had “jobs”. I realized we could do what we were doing better in our own company.
But to do this we had to go away from the security of jobs and the routine of 9 to 5. But we then got our own company could do it the way we saw our customers wanted.
SSI was born from this, an idea to deliver high quality underground images to a market that was still evolving and one where many of the technologies were still to come. We had some late nights, long days, and sat around desks in small rooms ( too expensive to rent flash offices) and talked a lot about our exciting ideas.
We’ve grown up now and do many of the things we planned and are always looking for ideas. Our goal is to deliver high resolution images .. we are always working on better ways to do this and have some fun doing it.
Using Geophysics in your projects
How to add geophysical techniques to your projects. We are always on the end of the phone or email us to review any issues you may have and offer ways to create solutions with geophysics.Things to keep in mind when considering geophysics
Ways to get good value from Geophysics 1) Do Geophysical surveys because it delivers results not because its a pretty picture
2) Use combinations(more than one geophysical method and physical investigation) and consider more one technique for a solution.

Using Geophysics in your projects
Computers and the latest generation of soft ware can now do some wonderful things with data. The processing power on a notebook is more than most mainframes had even 10 years ago. Theres a caution here, much of the procesing and aquisition has been dumbed down… so inexperienced operators and processors get loose on data and can turn a data set from nothing into something that appears to have useful information… They mean well but there many traps for lack of experience across a range of technologies and knowing whats real and what is not. |

My rule of thumbs are
IF YOU CANT SEE SOMETHING IN THE RAW DATA THEN USUALLY THE PROCESSING IS SHOWING YOU ARTIFACTS THAT ARE NOT REAL GET YOUR DATA COLLECTOR/ PROCESSOR TO SHOW YOU THE FEATURE IN THE RAW DATA AND SHOW YOU HOW THEY ENHANCED IT, IF THEY CANT THEN TREAT THE RESULT WITH A LOT OF CAUTION Iam always happy to look over any modest data sample and give a second opinion Grant 9/04/2010 |

IS GEOPHYSICS BLACK MAGIC I sometimes wonder that when i go on site i need a large broom and witches hat or maybe a wand, ive been offered divining sticks, metal rods, wooden bits of tree and even just straight arm waving… and the MAGICIANS are so so convinced their divining methods work, maybe it does?? GEOPHYSICS is not magic its sound science and backed by a lot of experience… we get good results and we solve the issues grant 8 /4 /2010 |
